On Sunday we set out from Michigan in Dom’s Ford Focus headed for Vegas. While our last trip was pleasure, this one’s all business. In the summer the poker community migrates en masse to Las Vegas. It’s just the place to be if you want to play poker.
We’re striving to be more economical this time around. We got a condo 15 minutes from the Strip. Rented from one Mr. Peoples, it has a distinctly old person vibe. Fake fruit basket, extensive notes about where to leave the keys, and crucially no wireless, which we hadn’t even bothered to ask about, assuming it to be a basic human right.
Our first day in town we went to the grocery store across from the condo and stocked up. We’re starting to establish a routine: gym/Starbucks in the morning, afternoon session (usually at the Rio, which is closest to our place), break for dinner and tennis, then a night session somewhere on the Strip. Here’s hoping we run good.
